This week we have been supporting Anti-Bullying Week, an awareness event coordinated by the Anti-Bullying Alliance with the theme 'One Kind Word'. As one of our School Values is Compassion, this week is really important to us as a school.

The week begun with Odd Socks Day, which is about celebrating what makes us all unique and we saw some very colourful socis on display throughout the school! We have also been talking about kindness in lessons, tutorials and assemblies and in the Prep School, Prep 6 have created some 'kindness bunting' which will be hung up in the Prep School lobby, Prep 3 and 4 have looked at our school values in Art and creating a fantastic collage about these with a focus on kindness and Reception have made a tally of all the kind things they have been doing throughout the week.

In the Senior School, Form 1 have created posters about being kind in their English lessons and Form 3 have been working on scenes to convey bullying and then counteracting these with anti-bullying scenes. The pupils thought about the different ways in which bullying can manifest itself – physical, emotional, cyber and in the workplace.

Kindness is more important today than it has ever been. The isolation of the last year has underlined how little acts of consideration can break down barriers and brighten the lives of the people around us.Anti-bullying week is about hope and the positive and kind things we can do to halt hurtful behaviour in its tracks.
