Shebbear College Headship

After a thorough search which yielded more than fifty applicants and a high quality field, an exhaustive final selection process led the appointing panel to reach a unanimous decision to appoint Mrs Caroline Kirby as the next Head of Shebbear College. With over a decade of school leadership positions with substantial teaching and pastoral experience, Mrs Kirby joins Shebbear College at an exciting time in its development.

A first class Honours graduate of Bristol University, Mrs Kirby started her teaching career at Dean Close, moving to Rendcomb College as Head of Geography, then on to Leighton Park as Assistant Head and to Bradfield College as Assistant Head and Senior Housemistress. Most recently, Mrs Kirby has been Deputy Head at Le Régent College, a newly established independent school in Switzerland.

Mrs Kirby will move to Shebbear College in August with her husband, Robert, and her three children aged between four and nine. She will bring tremendous experience and enthusiasm to the College, build on the College’s traditions, Christian and family ethos and will lead the school forward with imagination
and determination.
