OSA Reunion Dinner
The OSA hold a Reunion Dinner at the Royal Airforce Club in Piccadilly each year. A glamorous affair, this is a fantastic chance for Old Shebbearians of all ages to network and get together. The Head and current Heads of School are always guests at these dinners.
OSA Annual Reunion Dinner 2024
More than 100 Old Shebbearians and guests attended the Annual Dinner at the RAF Club in Mayfair on Saturday evening and a thoroughly enjoyable occasion it was for all who were there - from the Class of 2023 right through to those that left in the 1960s!
After enjoying their meal, everyone listened to some lively and, at times, amusing speeches from President, Oliver Sinden, the Head, Charlie Jenkins, Head of School and Head of Ruddle, George and Toby and then finally, Ted Trott who responded on behalf of the OSA. Teacher Mrs Appleton-Wahl was the special guest at this year's dinner, as a long-standing member of Shebbear College staff.
We also welcomed Jamie Sanders into his new role of OSA President, taking over from Oliver Sinden, who was thanked for his many years of work with the OSA.
Before everyone retired to the bar to continue catching up with school friends, an auction, run by Lester Bird, and offering lots which included tickets to an Exeter Chiefs match, a signed shirt from Bath Rugby Club, a 4-night stay at a holiday chalet, a one night stay including dinner at The Devil’s Stone Inn, as well as two bottles of quality alcohol – all very kindly donated by Old Shebbearians, parents and local businesses - raised an incredible £1500 which will go into the fund to support young cricketers coming to Shebbear from Barbados.
Thank you to OSA Secretary Andy Bryan and newly appointed Development Officer, Mrs Bernstone for organising such a successful evening! Everyone is already looking forward to next year’s event to be held on Saturday 8th February.
