A day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 4 to 18 in Shebbear, Devon

FOOTBALL

Our football programme, led by Head of Sport and UEFA B Licensed coach Paul Nicholls, is designed to support the holistic development of every player. Following the Football Association’s Four Corner Model, we focus on enhancing physical, social, psychological, and technical/tactical skills.

Each year we enter boys’ and girls’ teams in the English Schools Football Association Cups and the Independent Schools Football Association Cups, which provide opportunities to compete in national competitions from September onwards. Football remains one of the most popular activities in our 360@Sheb co-curricular programme, with opportunities to play throughout the year.

Our fixture list includes competitive matches against schools such as Exeter School and Truro School, carefully selected to provide the right level of challenge for each team. Fixtures take place midweek and on Saturdays, ensuring a balanced and enriching experience for all players.

Favourite thing about football?

It’s a really good way of expressing myself. If I’ve had a bad day, football can be a stress reliever for me and a way to let all my emotions out. It’s just a really enjoyable thing to do as well.

Sporting Hero?

Neymar Jr because I’ve looked up to him since I was young. He’s amazing and dribbles at such a great level.
