BASKETBALL

Basketball is rapidly gaining momentum at Shebbear, establishing itself as an important part of our sporting culture. With the number of competitive fixtures growing each year, the sport offers pupils the chance to showcase their talent and passion on the court.

We’re proud to have some exceptionally gifted players who bring energy, skill, and teamwork to every game. Basketball is not only a growing sport here—it’s a distinctive feature of our co-curricular offering, creating a point of difference and enriching the pupils’ overall development.

Favourite thing about sport?

My favourite thing about playing sport is all the friendships you make along the way, making something special as you encourage another on your journey and watching one another thrive and really improve individually.

Sporting Hero?

My sporting hero would have to be Isaiah Thomas as his story of being the last player in the NBA draft to becoming one of Boston Celtic heroes is a truly inspiring story and shows how, even if you are put last, doesn’t mean you can’t work your way to the top.

Favourite food?

My favourite food by a mile would have to be a lamb kabab, without a doubt.
