Rugby 1stXV 55-15 victory over Milton Abbey

The Shebbear 1stXV continued their excellent start to the season with a home game against an ever tenacious Milton Abbey.

On Friday the weather looked to play its part and very nearly resulted in a waterlogged pitch, thankfully the dry Saturday allowed us to play the fixture and what a treat it was.

The game began at a fast pace, with some physical and aggressive attack from Milton Abbey, which led to Milton Abbey taking the early points for a 3-0 lead. In response, Shebbear acted with a series of quick fire scores, some exceptional game management and spirited kick chase, allowing us to take a 34 -3 lead at half time.

In the second half a well balanced contest continued with Milton Abbey continuing to apply pressure around the fringes with some effective ball carrying. A spirited Shebbear continued to break down the Milton Abbey defence, with some organised and effective attacking, including an exceptional solo effort by Shebbear’s back three. The game finished 55-15 to Shebbear. Another great result, in a very complete performance played in terrific spirit by both teams.
