Beyond the classroom students have access to a range of opportunities including charity work and various exchange programmes. In school, they will have the opportunity to be involved in an extensive sporting, music, drama and outward bounds programme, as well as regular debating and social activities in school.

Shebbear College Sixth Form students go on to some of the world’s most prestigious universities, recently including Cambridge, Durham, Imperial College London, Oxford, Reading, Exeter and Warwick. Our A Level students regularly achieve a 100% pass rate.
Our Sixth Form curriculum provides a range of subjects for students. Every effort will be made to take your son or daughters individual requirements into consideration, so their subject choices are met wherever possible. Devoted academic teachers and tutors will be with your son or daughter throughout their time in Sixth Form. Most crucially, dedicated UCAS sessions guide parents and students through the complex process of university applications and career choices. During their time in the Sixth Form, students will stay with their designated personal tutor throughout the two years. Tutors will help and support each individual with their workload as well as oversee applications for Higher Education or employment.
A number of Sixth Form students take advantage of our boarding provision. The time saved by not travelling in the evenings allows for extra studying, and academic staff are on site to help with any academic or pastoral matters. We offer full boarding, weekly boarding and flexi boarding, every option to suit your personal requirements.
Our Sixth Form students enjoy a number of dedicated social events each year, culminating in the formal Sixth Form Rounsfell Dinner. It is recognised that a student’s time in the Sixth Form is enhanced with additional activities such as charity work in Uganda, a history and ethics trip to Europe and exchange opportunities with schools in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
