1st XV Rugby Boys

The Under 18 XV travelled to West Buckland for the final game of their season. The traditional derby and crunch match awaited our players in what was to be an outstanding game of rugby. Blustery conditions made the management of the  game a tricky task. Both teams battled ferociously with Shebbear having the benefit of the slope and wind in the first half. West Buckland were able to repel all Shebbear threw at them to go in halftime 0-0. The second half produced  much of the same with West Buckland taking a 3-0 lead with only 10 minutes to go. With the last play of the game Shebbear went the full length of the field towards the West Buckland 22 maintaining possession for a sustained period culminating with Shebbear scoring in the in the corner. Although the difficult conversion was missed Shebbear won the game 5-3 in a fantastic game of rugby.

This was a a performance of grit, determination and teamwork .Credit to both teams and well done to our boys on another exceptional season.
