Little Explorers Nursery

Our brand new nursery, Little Explorers, is set to open its doors on 28th April 2025 for children aged between 2 and 4 years old.

Little Explorers is nestled in the heart of our picturesque 85-acre campus, offering a tranquil and nurturing environment for young children to explore and learn during this crucial stage of development. With experienced and caring staff and a newly refurbished setting including a teaching classroom and a large outdoor area, we aim to provide a safe and engaging space, with a focus on the outdoors, where children can truly thrive.

Focusing on holistic development, the nursery offers a variety of activities designed to foster creativity, critical thinking, and social skills. Children will benefit from engaging lessons taught by our specialist teachers in subjects such as PE, Music, Art, Dance, Robotics, Environmental Education, and French.

Children will be fully integrated into the broader Prep School community, benefiting from shared resources and opportunities for interaction with older students. Parents can look forward to a supportive partnership with the nursery staff, ensuring their child’s early years are filled with joy and meaningful learning experiences.

Starting nursery is a big step, but at Shebbear College, we work hard to ensure that this experience is filled with excitement, confidence, and happiness. Shebbear College’s Little Explorers Nursery is a very special place where children can be themselves, explore, play, create, and grow!

Opening Hours and Sessions

Open Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm, Term-time only.

We offer full days (8am – 5pm), morning (8am – 1pm) and afternoon (12pm-5pm) sessions. We ask for a minimum of 3 days (6 sessions) attendance per week, to enable the quickest settling in process and the best learning opportunities.*

Fees

We accept Early Years Education Entitlement (EYEE) funding. Please visit the Gov.uk website for more information on funding.

Full day: £66.25

Half day: £33.13

Fees include snacks, lunch and nappies (if needed).

A registration fee of £75 and a refundable deposit of £100 is payable upon acceptance of a place.

All fees are charged on a termly basis.

Staffing

Little Explorers staff will consist of our EYFS Lead, our Nursery Manager and our Nursery Assistant. We also have specialist teachers for certain subjects.
