A word from the Head of the Prep School

Mark CharmanAchievements, CoCurricular, Events, Prep School

The Prep School celebrated Harvest Festival on Tuesday afternoon in Lake Chapel. Our warmest thanks to Rev. Dr Susannah Metz, Team Vicar at St. Petroc’s Church, Petrockstowe, for leading what was a very enjoyable service. The children sang extremely well, and our readers (Ashton, Issy, James and Jemima) did a super job. Our thanks also, for all of the food and toiletries donated, which will be taken to the Bude Food Bank.

There has been some excitement in the Prep this week, as we have celebrated having a newly crowned National Champion. Harry was away last week competing at the Birmingham NEC in the Horse of the Year Show, and together with his pony Billy, finished as overall winners in the 122cm Show Hunter Pony of the Year. This is an outstanding achievement for Harry, and our new National Champion was given a fantastic ovation in school this week.

The best of luck to our cross-country runners, who will be taking on the challenge of the muddy Shebbear course on Sunday morning, in the second race of this season’s Gliddon and Squire League.

Mr Matthew Foale
