A Word from the Head of the Prep School

Jo ConwayPrep School

The Prep School’s House Spelling Bee concluded this week, with our brave volunteers from Years 1 to 6 stepping into the spotlight. There were some fine battles, ending with wins for Annie (in the Year 1 and 2 category), Dixie (Years 3 and 4), and Freddie (Year 5 and 6). Well done to everyone who took part, the audience for their tremendous support, and to Way for winning the overall House competition.

We were delighted to welcome Chris Turner from Edukid into assembly this morning. He thanked the Prep children for all of their efforts raising money for children in Uganda and spoke about the recent trip to Uganda by some of our Senior School students in the summer holidays. Isaac and Lucky Peace are the two children we have been able to sponsor and it was extremely good to see photos and hear about them doing so well and enjoying school.

Congratulations also to our golden sticker winners last week: Tyler, Sonny, Lincoln, Harry, Keira and Lydia. Our BAFTA winner was George, and Ashton won the Manners Medal. Well done to them all.

Our children have been rehearsing hard this week, as Drama auditions have taken place for the Trinity term production, as well as preparations for the Pre-School Nativity next Tuesday and the Year 1 and 2 performances of ‘Hey Ewe!’ next Wednesday (dress rehearsal) and Thursday.

I hope you enjoy this evening’s Family Fun Evening, as we kick-off the festive period, and have a good weekend.
