A Word from the Head of the Prep School

Jo ConwayPrep School

For much of this week, the classrooms and corridors of the Prep School have reverberated with the sounds of drama and singing, as our Pre-Prep children have been rehearsing for their production of ‘Hey Ewe!’ – their baa-rilliant nativity, to be performed on Thursday 5th December. This is a busy time for Prep drama and Mrs Jones, as next week sees the first auditions take place for the Trinity term production ‘Ye-Ha!’

Many congratulations to Year 6 for their excellent performances in their Public Speaking competition earlier in the week. Their choices of topics were certainly varied – from ‘RMS Titanic’ to ‘Christmas’ and from ‘Being a Royal Marines Bandsman’ to ‘The Island of Tresco’, and the children spoke very eloquently and articulately. Many congratulations to our winner Jemima, who was closely followed by Theo and Elsie.

Although we are not quite in December, Christmas is getting closer, as our trees arrive early next week, ahead of our Christmas Family Fun Evening on Friday and other festive events in the final fortnight of term.

I hope you have a good weekend and the best of luck to our cross-country runners taking part in the latest round of the Gliddon and Squire league at West Buckland on Sunday morning.
