The Prep School gathered together on Monday morning for our Remembrance Assembly. Several of our Year 6 children were involved in the assembly, contributing poems, readings and the Roll of Honour, with the names of those Shebbearians who were killed in action in the two World Wars. The importance of the event, especially in this centenary year marking the very first Armistice Day in 1919, was not lost on the children, as they observed the silence in a very respectful and dignified manner.
Our children have taken part in a range of activities, as part of National Anti-Bullying Week. From a School Council assembly to E-Safety, and from poster designs to poetry, there has been some excellent discussion and work across every year-group.
Other events this week have included Years 3, 4 and 5 visiting the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter, taking part in a variety of really excellent activities based on Ancient Egypt. Our sports fixture list was slightly affected by the weather, but our U.11 rugby team were still able to play at Mount Kelly, putting in an encouraging performance.
Thank you for helping us support Children in Need today and we look forward, among other things next week, to the Year 6 Public Speaking competition and the Inter-House Spelling competition.
