The evening of the 13th February saw our second Informal Music Concert of the year take place in the Music Centre. Children from Year 1 to Year 6 took part in what was a very enjoyable concert, with a lot of talent on show. Some of these children have already performed in front of several audiences, and for others performing is a very new experience, having only started learning their instrument a short time ago. It was good to see so many of them visibly grow in confidence when receiving such warm and enthusiastic applause, and the progress many have made since their last performance has been excellent. Thank you to Mrs Parker and our superb music department for preparing all of the children so well.
Our assembly programme during the last week of half term covered Safer Internet Day, ‘think before you do or say’ and the Australian wildlife charity WIRES. The Prep School joined with the Senior School for the fundraising cake sale on Monday morning, raising a very impressive sum of just under £200 for such a worthy cause.
Many congratulations to our golden sticker winners: Lucy, Harry, Ben, Zack and Jai. Our BAFTA and Manners Medal awards were won by Ahmad and Lincoln respectively, and in our House competition, Ruddle are holding a very narrow two point lead, just ahead of Thorne!
I hope you enjoy a very restful half-term break.
