A Word from the Head of the Prep School

Jo ConwayPrep School

This has been a busy week for our Year 6 children in particular, as they have sat their Entrance Exams for the Senior School, as well as an array of scholarship assessments for some. Having been joined by a large number of children currently at other schools, they successfully navigated their way through the week and have been keen to say how much they enjoyed the range of activities that they took part in.

Apparently, it was Blue Monday at the beginning of the week, although you would not have known it in school. This term’s chess tournament, the rowing competitions and the U.11 inter-House 5-a-side football league are all now underway, and the first rehearsals for this year’s production have been greetedwith much enthusiasm.

Our assembly themes this week included overcoming adversity, Chinese New Year and the various ways balloonsare used, including in some pioneering surgery. We are also looking forward to our first House assemblies of 2020 next week, with Tom, Lydia and Arron leading their charges.

Many congratulations to our Golden Sticker winners: Max, Emma, Lincoln and Freddie, as well as to George and Dixie for winning the BAFTA and Manners Medal respectively.
