Celebrating over 175 years of fine education, Shebbear College is one of the premier independent schools in the South West of England.
Shebbear College is one of the premier independent schools in the South West of England and offers co-educational day and boarding education for boys and girls aged 3 to 18. Located in rural North Devon and boasting an 85 acre campus with superb facilities, Shebbear College is celebrating over 175 years since its founding and is proud to continue offering a fine education to both local pupils and our many international students.
Our aim is to educate each pupil to achieve his or her potential by encouraging the highest possible standards of attainment and behaviour through a balanced, flexible and challenging curriculum. As a result our pupils consistently out-perform national trends.
Despite the relatively small size of year groups the College participates in a strong fixture lists against all of the major sporting schools in the South West and all pupils participate in a varied extra-curricular programme.
By providing a supportive and nurturing environment, Shebbear develops a pupil’s sense of self worth, enthusiasm for learning and optimism for the future. We foster responsibility, tolerance, commitment and respect, both for the individual and for society.
We take great pride not only in our pupils’ academic successes but also in the well-rounded, caring and well-motivated young adults who have a clear knowledge of right and wrong and who are comfortable and confident in their surroundings.
The Old Shebbearians’ Association (OSA) provides a fine, worldwide network of friends and colleagues and hosts numerous reunion events each year as well as supporting Shebbear College in fundraising activities.
We invite you to come and see for yourself what makes Shebbear College so special. We will be delighted to show you around.
