Abby is now a qualified Norland Nanny

Jo ConwayAchievements, Old Shebbearians

We were delighted to hear from Abby Selwyn (Shebbear Sixth Form leaver 2016) who has kindly sent us an update on her progress:

‘After leaving Shebbear College I secured a place at Norland College to train to be a Nanny, as a childcare professional. I am graduating from Norland College with a first class BA(hons) degree in Early Years Development and Learning.

My journey after leaving university began quickly. With much experience nannying for a variety of lovely families throughout my training, one of them pictured here, just 3 weeks after my last day in education I began my Newly Qualified Nanny job in London with a family with two young boys.

The trust that a family has in you and the responsibility that comes with caring for their children it is the greatest motivation to provide the best possible care. The most rewarding part of my job is watching both children grow and develop every day, surrounded by the consistent support that I offer them. I’m enjoying my journey of employment and am excited to see what doors will be opening next.’

Thank you Abby, we look forward to hearing more in future.
