What a week at the National Pony Club Championships!

Our riders excelled across tetrathlon, dressage and eventing, achieving some fantastic results.

First up was the tetrathlon competition, where Zola, Edith, Nancy, Annabelle, Anaya and Neve had qualified. The girls had to shoot, swim, run and ride over some of the toughest country courses, and everyone made excellent progress throughout the competition.

Zola and Edith were selected to compete for the South West in the Stepping Stones competition and helped their team finish 8th. Annabelle put in a fantastic individual performance to place 9th out of 94 competitors in a highly competitive Junior section, while Neve and Anaya were part of a Senior Girls’ team for Eggesford Pony Club, which finished second in the Open Girls competition.

Next up was the dressage competition. Emma competed in the Open-level dressage classes and was the youngest rider at this level. She rode beautifully accurate tests to achieve an individual 10th place and help her team secure 3rd place.

Lastly came the eventing competition. Annabelle, Anaya, Isobel and Neve took on challenging eventing tracks, where clear rounds were achieved by as few as 31% of competitors over some of the most technical courses.

Annabelle was a complete star on her horse, Kirby, winning her 90 section. The 90 team, featuring Annabelle and Neve, also came 3rd overall out of 45 teams.

Isobel and Neve had been selected to represent the South West in the prestigious Chairman’s Cup competition. Both were individually placed, helping their team win the regional competition.
