Huge congratulations to Yvie in Lower 6th, who delivered a superb performance at the ISA Young Musician Competition 2026, held yesterday at St Hilda’s College, University of Oxford. Having been selected as a finalist earlier this term, Yvie represented Shebbear College with confidence, musical maturity and real artistry.
Although she did not take home the top prize, her performance was outstanding, and the entire Shebbear community is incredibly proud of her achievement. Reaching the national finals is an exceptional accomplishment in itself and reflects Yvie’s dedication, talent and many hours of practice.
Head of Creative and Performing Arts, Mrs Sadler‑Smith, who attended the competition, praised Yvie’s performance, saying:
“Yvie performed astoundingly well — with poise, conviction, and full of musicality. It was a truly polished performance.”
