Academic Whole School

World Book Day was once again a highlight of the Shebbear calendar, bringing a shared love of stories to every corner of the school. In the Senior School, tutor groups embraced the spirit of the day by adopting a different book each and transforming into its characters. Corridors came alive with imaginative costumes, from literary classics to contemporary favourites, as students and staff celebrated the power of reading to inspire, entertain and connect.

Meanwhile, the Prep School took a wonderfully cosy approach, spending the day in pyjamas as they celebrated the joy of reading for pleasure. The relaxed atmosphere set the tone for a day focused on imagination, comfort and the simple delight of getting lost in a good book.

Across the whole school, students enjoyed a series of activities including a Drop Everything And Read session, a lively book exchange, creative library events, and a live author experience that encouraged pupils to think like writers and storytellers.
