The Scholars’ Masterclasses are back for the 2025–26 academic year, offering Shebbear College pupils a rich and varied programme of enrichment opportunities across sport, music, art, and more.

Our Sports Scholars welcomed Peter Hill from Devon Wado-Ryu Karate for a dynamic masterclass focused on authentic Wado-Ryu Karate-Do. The session highlighted the values of integrity and respect in sport, reinforcing key messages we share with our pupils. A standout moment was learning a 20-move kata, which challenged and inspired everyone involved.

Meanwhile, our Art Scholars explored the delicate craft of paper-cutting in a workshop led by Bristol-based artist Sarah Dennis. Pupils experimented with intricate techniques and created beautifully tactile designs, developing both skill and creativity.

Our Music Scholars were treated to an inspirational recital by the Cameron Mills Group, led by Old Shebbearian Cameron Mills. The session included a Q&A about careers in the music industry and an interactive workshop that gave students a hands-on taste of professional performance.

Coming up after half term: Drama and Performing Arts Scholars will have their turn to shine.
