As well as welcoming back our pupils for the new academic year, we were delighted to greet four guest Sixth Formers, Annika, Eva, Natalia, and Jack, from Canberra Grammar School in Australia, as part of our thriving international exchange programme.
These exchanges offer a once-in-a-lifetime experience for students, and Shebbear is proud to be one of the few schools in the region offering such a comprehensive and inclusive exchange programme. Each year, we work closely with partner schools around the world to provide reciprocal opportunities for both male and female students.
Our next exchange programme will take place in summer 2026, when Form 5 and Lower 6th students will have the chance to spend a term at a partner school in Australia after completing their GCSEs. In return, international students join us at Shebbear during the Michaelmas Term.
Timing the exchange over the summer allows students to experience life in a different country before starting their Sixth Form studies in September — a unique opportunity that continues to be hugely popular with our students.
Welcome to Shebbear, Annika, Eva, Natalia, and Jack — we’re so glad to have you with us!
