We are so proud of young equestrians Tichy (Form 4) and Anaya (Form 2) who saddled up and headed to compete at the prestigious Badminton Grassroots 2025 Championships this week – an event which takes place each year at Badminton House ahead of the main five-star Badminton Horse Trials. The girls secured their places at Badminton last year, an amazing achievement for both riders – and quite a feat at just 15 and 13 years old!
Tichy returned to the iconic event for a second year, tackling the 100cm class, while Anaya made her Badminton debut in the 90cm section. Both girls finished in the top third of competitors in their respective classes, with both getting clears inside the time in the Cross Country – fantastic achievements!

The girls are both members of the Shebbear College NSEA (National Schools Equestrian Association) team, who have gone from strength to strength this year, celebrating some brilliant results at the regional Arena Eventing and Show Jumping NSEA competitions and will be competing at the ISA National Eventing Championships Two Day Event to be held at Princethorpe College in Rugby in a few weeks. The team also qualified for the national finals at Hickstead but the two events clash – so this year they are going to compete at the ISA event after attending Hickstead last year and we wish them the best of luck!

NSEA team manager and teacher, Marie Webber, along with other members of the equestrian team, have spent the last few days clicking ‘update’ on the live scoring system and cheering the girls on! Congratulations to both riders and we look forward to seeing what the future holds!
