Sports Scholars took a trip to award winning gym, Chantelle Law Fitness & Pilates in Bideford to take part in a HYROX Masterclass. Hyrox is a fitness competition designed to test overall strength, endurance, and stamina in a standardised format. It blends functional training and endurance exercise, featuring a combination of running and workout stations that include movements such as rowing, sled pushes and pulls, burpees and wall balls! 

Hyrox is a huge trend right now in the fitness industry and is becoming increasingly popular. Students went through all the exercises and techniques, and then ran through a mini Hyrox simulation: 

  • 400m run  
  • 1K row or ski  
  • 400m run  
  • 4 lengths sled push and pull combined  
  • 400m run  
  • 8 lengths burpee broad jumps  
  • 400m run  
  • Farmer carry lengths 
  • 400m run 
  • 10 lengths walking lunges  
  • 400m run 
  • 50-75 wall balls
