After a hugely successful event last year, our U11 Rugby Festival returned at the weekend, welcoming club teams from Bude, Bideford, Okehampton (including Will, Oliver and Tom in Prep 6), Exeter Athletic, Ilfracombe and Torrington to take part in a round robin tournament. As well as familiar local derbies, the festival saw some brand new fixtures between clubs that wouldn’t usually play each other.

It was a pleasure to host this exciting event, with the emphasis of the day being enjoyment, sportsmanship and development. Our Sports Scholars and coaches were looking out for players displaying our school values of Courage, Confidence, Courtesy, Compassion, Creativity and Curiosity throughout the day – congratulations to those who won these medals at the end and well done to all – some great games and fantastic play on display!

We received some fantastic feedback from the clubs following the event, including the Ilfracombe U11s Coach who said “What can I say, your college went above and beyond with the tournament you held today. All my players and their parents left today knowing that it’ll be hard pressed to top it this season. We cannot thank you enough.”

We hope to see all the clubs, and maybe more, next year!
