On Thursday last week, the GCSE and A Level drama pupils had the opportunity to see a play at The Queen's Theatre, Barnstaple. The Signalman is an adaptation of a Charles Dickens' classic ghost story and it kept the audience on the edge of their seats until the final twist at the end of the play. The pupils will be writing about the performance in their examinations this year and all were agreed that the acting and production effects were excellent.

Head of Drama, Mr Pomroy, commented: 'the pupils got a great deal from this atmospheric play and the way in which it was acted. It was lovely to hear members of the audience describing their behaviour as a 'credit to the school'. It was a pleasure to take them and I am glad that they enjoyed it; so did I, when I came out from behind my seat for long enough to pluck up the courage to watch it!'
