U13 Netball vs Plymouth College

The U13 team have had a great start to the season, continuing with the success of last year.In the first match of the season we played West Buckland. It took the U13s a while to warm up but they soon took the lead. Some impressive attacking and intercepting by Millie meant that Shebbear had the lion’s share of the possession, with the overall result being a 4-4 draw. This result is not a fair representation of the game. Player of the match was Millie (attack) and Demlza (defence).

Next, we played Truro who looked to be stiffer competition. Shebbear took an early lead which they easily maintained. There was excellent team work with interceptions being converted into goals. Strong team play throughout the match led to a very convincing win 10-2. Player of the match Lily.

Finally, last weekend we played Plymouth College. We had a depleted side due to illness and injury but the girls approached the match with the same steady determination that we saw last season. Shebbear gained an early lead once again and held on to that throughout the game. Willow and Demelza were impressive in defence, intercepting and turning over the play. Some good communication down the court saw the attack up their game too and with some sharp shooting from Savanah Shebbear held their lead easily. Final score was 14-6 to Shebbear with player of the match going to Harriet (defence) and Alice (attack).
