U11 Netball Girls

On a damp and drizzly afternoon the Under 11 netball squad played an away fixture against St. Joseph’s.

We were without one of our key players so the girls found themselves playing in positions that were rather unfamiliar to them. As expected they rose to the occasion and some team members excelled.

Jemima remained solid as centre and executed some athletic interceptions, while Bella as goal shooter played with great agility and tenacity, often winning the ball for Shebbear. Lydia was a stalwart in defence and Lila-Mai performed admirably as goal attack.

Although we managed to create numerous chances on goal we were unable to convert all these attempts. At the end of an evenly balanced and very exciting game St. Joseph’s edged the game 3 – 1. The Players of the match went to Lila-Mai and Bella
