A day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 4 to 18 in Shebbear, Devon

Old Shebbearians' Association

The Old Shebbearians' Association (OSA) was formed in 1908 with the aim of keeping the spirit of community and friendship strong between, former, current and future pupils.

Friendships forged and values learnt at Shebbear are never forgotten and our alumni have a strong connection with the school, with many returning to work here and others visiting to give careers talks or help with events.

The OSA hold a Reunion Dinner at the Royal Airforce Club in Piccadilly each year. A glamorous affair, this is a fantastic chance for Old Shebbearians of all ages to network and get together. The Head and current Head Boy and Girl are always a guest at these dinners.

We also hold reunions for alumni at the school - a fantastic opportunity to see how it has changed and reminisce!

Over the last seven years the OSA has donated over £30,000 to the school and many prizes on Speech Day bear the names of their Old Shebbearian donors. Notable benefactions over the years include the Beckly Wing, the Library and two cricket pavilions as well as the land on which the school is built.

The War Memorial Fund (The OSA charitable division) was established in 1924 as a charitable trust to honour the memory of lives lost in both World Wars. The trust’s purpose is to provide substantial means-tested scholarships to talented and deserving young people, who, because of their family circumstances would not have the opportunity to attend or stay on at Shebbear College.

It is always great to hear from Old Shebbearians, so please do get in touch with your news via our social media channels or by emailing [email protected]. If you would like to update your contact details please get in touch with our OSA Administrator, Amy Bernstone on [email protected]
