Our Prep School children held a Milkshake and Cookies Fundraising Café on Friday 27th November, and raised over £100 for Lucky-Peace and Issac – the two Ugandan children that they sponsor through the Edukid Charity. Edukid.org.uk is based in Bideford and helps to remove the barriers to education faced by children living in poverty and conflict.
Children in Need
This year, the theme for BBC Children in Need was to ‘Come as Yourself’, with pupils embracing their identities and wearing whatever makes them feel comfortable. Years 5 and 6 have their sponsored walk for Edukid
Years 5 and 6 have taken part in a sponsored walk to raise money for Edukid, and in particular, Lucky Peace and Issac, two Ugandan children the Prep School sponsors. The children walked over 5kms in some appalling conditions, gathering a very impressive collection of sticks along the way.
Successful Fundraising Cake Sale
A very big thank you to all who contributed to the fundraising cake sale that took place earlier this week. It was a great success. We managed to raise just over £192 for Wires, Australia
Toilet twinning update
Mrs Douglas has informed us that her tutor group managed to raise £76.10 towards our toilet twinning initiative during the doughnut sale last Friday. Mrs Douglas underestimated the hunger of the pupils, as they could easily have sold double what they did, even though she did buy all the available doughnuts in ASDA! Our G2L Charity group, organised and led by Mrs Willis-Butcher, organised a Bake Sale in the Prep School on Tuesday, to raise further funds for Edukid and supporting children with their education in Uganda.
