Our 1st XV rugby team were in action at home for the first time this week and produced an outstanding performance against Plymouth College.
Both sides battled hard in a fierce and ferocious contest, showcasing great determination and skill levels. Both teams were level at 7-7 at half time, before Plymouth looked to clinch it with 19-14 with 5 minutes to play. However, Shebbear were able to capitalise with an unconverted score to finish in the final play of the game, finishing at 19-19.
Despite not taking all the spoils, this was a historical moment for our 1st XV team, being the first time that Shebbear had avoided defeat at the hands of Plymouth College in recent memory. A really great encounter and many thanks to Plymouth for a great game of rugby.
