Our Aims, Ethos and Vision
Shebbear College is a member of the Methodist Group of Schools; therefore Christian values permeate all that we do and the Chapel is a focal point in College life. It is here that term begins and ends and here that the whole school meets and worships together.
Directed by the College’s own Chaplaincy our services have an ecumenical feel. All aspects of Christian ethics come together.
We believe in traditional values and aim to:
- Strengthen an individual’s self-discipline and character
- Provide an awareness of the world and others
- Equip young people for their lives beyond Shebbear
We are a co-educational, Day and Boarding School that emphasises Christian values. We foster responsibility, tolerance, commitment and respect, both for the individual and for society.
We believe traditional values strengthen an individual’s self-discipline and character.
Shebbear College seeks to prepare all its pupils for adult life by challenging and expanding young minds and in teaching both personal and social responsibility. We take great pride not only in our pupils’ academic successes but also in the well-rounded, caring and well-motivated young adults who have a clear knowledge of right and wrong and who are comfortable and confident in their surroundings.
Shebbear College is an independent UK school, a co-educational day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 2 to 18, located in rural North Devon.
