Emerging Talent Awards

At Shebbear College we offer Emerging Talent Awards to pupils currently in Year 4 at Primary School, who are interested in joining our Year 5 intake in September 2025. These are awarded for outstanding academic ability or a talent and passion for Sport or The Arts and will last throughout a pupil’s time in the Prep School.  

We are looking for pupils who, as well as showing a talent in their chosen area, also demonstrate enthusiasm, positivity and a desire to learn. Applicants should display our school values of curiosity, courage, confidence, creativity, compassion and courtesy in all that they do, as well as having the desire to continue to improve in their chosen field of specialism. Achieving an Emerging Talent Award is just the start of a journey; at Shebbear we will develop and deepen their passions and interests as part of our Scholarships programme.

Emerging Talent Awards consist of a reduction on school fees (up to 25%). 

Who can apply?

These awards are available for children currently in Year 4, looking to join our Year 5 class in September 2025.

How to apply

Pupils applying for an Emerging Talent Award will be invited to Shebbear College to experience a day in our wonderful Prep School. As part of this day, an assessment will take place in their area of talent. This may include auditions or formal assessments, informal observations and an interview with our Head, Mr Jenkins and our Head of Prep, Mrs Dennis.
