Discover the magic of Shebbear College Prep School! This is a brilliant opportunity for all children aged between 3 and 11 to join us for a Saturday morning full of fun and discover more about what we do every day here at Sheb. The event will have a Christmas theme, so come along and get into the Christmas Spirit!

This event is free of charge.

We appreciate that we are situated in a rural location, so for any parents dropping children off who do not want to travel home and back again, our Sixth Form Centre will be open, with wifi access and refreshments provided, so that you can use the opportunity to catch up on some work/admin or just relax with a cup of tea or coffee!

What?

Following the success of our last ‘Discover Sheb’, this popular event is back, this time with a Christmas theme!

Discover Sheb does exactly what it says on the tin! All children aged between 3 and 11 years old are invited to join us for a Saturday morning of fun and exciting activities run by our amazing teachers, and discover what we do every day at Shebbear College Prep School!

Different options are available to different age groups, but some of the activities on offer are:

Discover Sport– An exciting session with Prep School Sports Teacher, Mr Willetts on our astro pitch (or sports hall if the weather is terrible!)

Discover Cookery– Create some Christmas themed treats in our Cookery room with our Head of Prep, Mrs Dennis

Discover Cheerleading– A fabulous and energetic cheerleading dance activity with ‘Miss Amy’, who runs our Prep School co-curricular Cheerleading club!

Discover Science– Spend a session in our Science labs with Head of Science, Mrs Kingsland, creatingchromatography Christmas trees!

Discover Music– A fun and creative music workshop using music from Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” in our specialist Music School with our Head of Performing Arts, Mrs Sadler-Smith

Discover Jewellery Design– Create some fabulous jewellery to keep yourself or give as a Christmas present, with our jewellery specialist (and Head of English & Languages!), Mrs Aliberti.

For younger children, we are offering:

Magical Dance– Multi-sensory dance activity to stretch both body and imagination with ‘Miss Amy’ from Magical Tots Dance, who runs our Dance sessions and Cheerleading club!

Little Explorers– craft and sensory activities in our Reception classroom based around our Christmas theme with refreshments available for parents and children.

Nature Detectives– A fabulous outdoor session, investigating our campus and taking part in Forest School activities!

We also hope that Father Christmas will pay a visit!

Discover Sheb is free of charge.

Who?

Open to all children aged between 3 and 11.

If your child is in Year 2 or above, adults can drop children off and pick them up later; parents of children in Year 1 and below will need to stay for the morning.
