Ten Tors Challenge

Ten Tors is an annual challenge organised by the Army and hosted on Dartmoor.

Around 400 teams take part in the Ten Tors Challenge each year, hiking 35, 45 or 55 miles over the steep granite outcrops of Dartmoor.

Shebbear College have excelled in the event in recent years, having repeatedly entered teams for each distance and led their groups home safely and in good time.

The challenge is the result of months of training and determination which sees the teams up on Dartmoor at the weekends, sometimes in challenging weather conditions.

The Ten Tors Challenge helps pupils to get engaged with their local area and can be a great stepping stone towards joining the British Schools Expedition Society.
