Spring 2008
On Monday 4th February the U11 and U9 netball teams played matches against St Petroc's School.
There was definitely an air of wanting to do well as we had lost to St Petroc'sthe last time out.
The U11 team won the toss andchose to take the first centre pass. This proved to be a positive step as they immediately went on to score. New additions to the team in the form of Emily Dunn, Katie Trask and Francesca Stevens added much needed athleticism to the attack, scoring 7goals in quick succession. The defensekept their end up well by restricting the St Petroc's team to only 3 goals. A very well deserved win for the girls, and a fantastic team spirit was enjoyed by all.
The U9 team also wonthe toss, which saw Flora Davey and Niamh Martin score 5 goals within the first three minutes. St Petroc's made a concerted effort to make a comeback, but only managed to score 4 goals to Shebbear's eventual 8. The St Petroc's centre was at alittle bit of a disadvantage as our centre towered over her. A very good match was had by all and I am very impressed by the talent shown in the team. Well done girls!!
