Junior School Update
29 April 2010

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Summer Term.  For the first time in a long while it actually feels like we have returned in the Summer time.  It is good to see how many pupils are already in Summer uniform.  Please note that the uniform is Summer dresses for all girls and shorts for boys up to and including Year 5.  Mrs Goode and Mrs Armstrong have a few second hand dresses – please contact them directly.  Summer uniform may be worn up to half term in the Autumn term.

Class photographs will take place next Tuesday 4th May.  I would ask that all pupils are in Summer uniform by that date and that the school policy of hair off the collar and ears for boys and long hair tied back for the girls is observed.

The calendars are now with you and it promises to be a packed term with some old favourites returning – Cream teas, Book fair and the school production – please note the dates.  Everyone from Years 3 – 6 will be in the production.  Of course there is Sports Day and the Leavers barbecue which are both great fun.  Also there will be some new experiences for the children.  It was felt that the cost of the trip to Bude was too high and so we have booked a Circus Group with activities leading to a show at the end of each session and a Theatre group with workshops to visit us.

For parents of Year 5 pupils I give you advance warning that we have already book the PGL residential trip for next year’s Year 6.  We will leave on 20th September and return on 24th September.  The cost is approx £245 which is a reduced price because it reflects our previous visits and early booking discount.

I hope your child/children and yourselves have a great term and I look forward to meeting all of you during it.

Yours sincerely,

Mr B Harman
