Junior School Update

 

Dear Parents,                                                                                            11 February 2010

 

Half term is upon us, so soon it seems.  This half has flown by and I expect the next half to do the same.  Thank you for all your support, it has been most appreciated.Thank you to those of you who sent in money for Haiti.  We have collected over £300 which we will be giving to Rapid UK who have been working in Haiti giving relief to victims of the earthquake

 

I write to ask you to highlight some dates for next half term when your attendance will be most welcome.  The first is our Easter Fayre on Monday 22nd March.  As well as the usual Easter bonnet competition and stalls we have attending the Daleks, Cybermen and Tardis.  They appear courtesy of South West Charities and we hope their presence will result in even more people attending our event.  Our chosen charity is the Children’s Hospice.  Please recruit as many people as you can.  I will be writing early next term inviting you to send in items for various stalls (tombola, cake, bottle, etc).  Let’s hope for good weather.

 

The following day the whole school is to be visited by Voces8 who are a group of professional singers who run amazing vocal workshops with the children.  It is a whole school event and the culmination will be a concert that night in the Parkhouse Centre in Bude.  Some of our Junior and Senior school pupils will be performing with them.  Certainly a date to note – more information will follow.

Once again we have Mr Murray Barber visiting us with his mobile planetarium on Monday 1st March.  Each of the Junior classes will attend a stimulating and interesting presentation inside the Space Lab.  The cost of this will be £3.00 per pupil – please would you send this amount to your child’s class teacher by Friday 26th February.

Finally our own Junior School Concert will be on Wednesday 17th March.  All our children will take part; it will be a celebration of everyone’s musical talent.
