Kindergarten & Junior School
We are committed to developing each pupil’s potential and preparing them for the future by encouraging lifelong learning and good manners. This begins at the earliest opportunity. The Junior School provides a perfect environment in which to build a firm base of knowledge, skills and sense of enquiry that will underpin future progress. Through a thoughtfully constructed timetable, using a careful balance of traditional and modern teaching methods in small classes, your child is assured high quality teaching with a generous amount of individual attention.

Department Overview
The infant class occupies the same building as our Kindergarten, so a close working relationship exists between the two. Young pupils progress easily from Kindergarten to Reception. They work purposefully at their own pace, enjoying a variety of activities both indoors and out. The move to the infant class is carefully monitored and gradually introduced and only completed when we are sure the time is correct.
Facilities
Early learning starts in the Kindergarten in safe and secure, purpose-built surroundings from which pupils may progress to the reception and infant classes. The main Junior School block accommodates Years 3 to 6 and is fully equipped with a modern computer room, interactive white boards, changing rooms and toilets.

In the Classroom
We recognise the need to encourage and support our pupils to use their talents to the full. We positively nurture all aspects of creativity. All forms of music and physical activity are central to our well-rounded approach to education. Junior pupils successfully compete in a wide range of sports and we offer an extensive programme of extra-curricular activities that is available to all. Emphasising our Christian tradition, we aim to instill in our pupils respect for others, our environment and the School. We are proud of our welcoming atmosphere that recognises and rewards everyone’s achievements and demonstrates our commitment to high standards of behaviour and education.
Beyond the Classroom
We regularly take trips to explore our local countryside and its wealth of facilities. These include visits to the coastline, educational establishments, historical sites (for example, the Roman Baths) and recently a three day residential trip to Dorset to experience how the Victorians lived.
