A holistic approach
The Careers Department develop an interest for the children in open options through P.S.E. in the 3rd Year. They are introduced to Connexions and are encouraged to investigate all areas of the working field. Topics covering Money Management, Self Presentation, Creating a C.V. Work conflicts, Promotions and Health and Safety to name but a few, meet with a welcome approach. Work Experience is undertaken with a full commitment by all our children in the 4th Form.
Placements range from working for Television and Newspaper Companies, Forces, Hospital work to working with children or animals. Each placement is considered and tailored to the student’s preferences. Excellent presentations are given to the students of all years from outside agencies and motivational teams are brought in to help the student’s understand and master the need for team work. 5th and 6th Form students are all given individual time in regard to requirements, UCAS forms, further education, Gap Years, work placements, University choices and studying techniques. Interviews are held to give the student’s insight into work requirements.
