Types of Boarding
Boarding options at Shebbear College to suit your requirements.
Full boarding is ideal for pupils from overseas, or from families who are living and working abroad, including members of the armed forces. Children are cared for by our experienced house staff in Ruddle House for girls or in Pollard House and Pyke House for boys. All the facilities at the school are available to them in the evenings and at weekends and there is also an extensive choice of activities to enjoy.
This option is ideal for families living to far from the College to allow for daily travel. Like our full boarders, they benefit from structured prep sessions in the evenings before their leisure time and can enjoy the evening activities with the other pupils. They can also stay for the weekend activities should they choose to. Wherever possible we will try to arrange weekly travel to and from the College.
Effectively a sleep-over, flexi boarding is ideal for busy parents and unexpected situations. It offers pupils the chance to stay on after school, benefit from structured prep sessions before spending leisure time with their friends in a safe, homely environment. Flexi boarding includes evening activities, prep supervision, bed and breakfast. Please contact the school Registrar if you would like to arrange flexi boarding at any time.
