We welcome a broad range of pupils to Shebbear College  and although academic standards are very important,  we are a non-selective academic school and our admissions process is designed to gain a well-rounded view of each individual  pupil.

Shebbear College also caters for international students and we have a number of Chinese, German and French and Spanish students here.

Bursaries  & Scholarships

We offer various scholarships and bursaries at Shebbear College.   The total available, plus the percentage discounts awarded, are at the Headmaster’s discretion.  The exact numbers will vary from year to year in accordance with a range of factors, and all awards will be monitored for appropriate performance and effort.  We offer Academic, Art, Music and Sports Scholarships which are awarded on the basis of performance in entrance tests set by the College and held each January.  Further details, including guidance on performance levels required to be eligible for a scholarship are available from the Registrar.

Bursaries are means-tested against family resources and are intended to help families with financial difficulties meet the cost of school fees.  For more information please contact the Bursar’s Office.
