Shebbear College is unique. It has a very strong school-based Sixth Form, integrated into the day-to-day fabric of College life. The size of the Sixth Form enables us to maintain an environment of individual student support and guidance through a team of Personal Tutors and Academic Staff.

Today, Universities and employers look for more than just good A-levels. They are interested in students who have challenged themselves by:  travelling abroad, taking on meaningful work experience, developing sporting, musical and dramatic interests and improving their information technology, communication and leadership skills. Enrichment opportunities like these, and many more, are available within our Sixth Form.

The Sixth Form offers over eighteen AS and A-Level courses and the possibility of additional subjects by video-conferencing. Most pupils go on to university and in preparation for this the Sixth Form has its own recreational and study facilities, its own dress code and a greater freedom within its timetabled day.

Shebbear is committed to investment in Information Technology resources and uses IT as a tool to further the aspirations and achievements of its pupils. Every classroom, office and bedroom has ultra fast internet and intranet facilities enabling our pupils and staff to save or retrieve work at any location. The school is developing an online curriculum and all classrooms benefit from the provision of interactive whiteboards.
